Sign Of The Times

A few weeks ago I noticed Marconi had put up some Obama '08 signs on the lawn by the driveway entrance to the Sister Kisser®™©™ studio showing his support in the upcoming election. This surprised me, as I've never known him to be very political AT ALL up until this past year, and I thought it was pretty cool.

You know.

For Marconi.

The road where the signs were put and can be easily seen is a heavily traveled residential highway route where the homes are set back quite a distance from the street with long and winding driveways.

Last week as I came upon the driveway, turned in and headed up to the studio for our rehearsal, I noticed one of the signs had been taken down. I didn't think too much of it until two days later, at our next rehearsal...I noticed the other sign had gone missing too. When I had walked into the studio, there was a brand spanking new sign waiting there to replace the ones that were stolen.

Lioux: "Ummm. What's up with the signs out front. I noticed someone's been taking them down."

Marconi: "Yea. I know. I got this new one, but I'd really like to booby trap it or something for the fucker[s] who keep stealing them."

Lioux: "You should cover it in Anthrax!"

Audrey HepCat: "OMG!!! YES!!!"

Lioux: "Better yet. You should get a shot gun. That way you'd be exercising your 2nd Amendment Right to protect your 1st Amendment Right!"

Marconi: [blinking] "...ummm...yea....something..."

Marconi called me the next day, and during our conversation, he told me he had just decided to write a simple message on the back of the new sign before putting it out. In the thin, white surrounding border he wrote "Thank you for appreciating and respecting my right to free speech."

Wuss.
